Bernama melaporkan >> Petaling Jaya 1 April, Jerlun Member of Parliament Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir said today he was prepared to contest the post of Umno Youth chief at party elections in December if he has the support of the grassroot. However, Mukhriz, who is also the Umno Youth executive council member, said he would not offer to contest the post if the movement's incumbent chief, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, decided to defend the post. He said he had yet to make the final decision on the matter.
"I've not made any decision. I've to wait first for my boss Datuk Hisham to decide where he wants to go," he told reporters after attending a forum, which discussed Umno's position in the aftermath of the 12th general election, organised by Internet news portal MYKMU.Net here today. He declined to comment on the support voiced by audience at the forum who wanted him to contest the post held by Hishammuddin since 2000

Tanpa mengenepikan peranan, sumbangan dan kewibawaan Dato' Hisham menerajui Pergerakan Pemuda, elok rasanya beliau membuka ruang dengan tidak mempertahankan jawatan yang disandangnya itu.
